New arrival in Belgium

I'll keep this post brief. After much consideration, Sarah and I have decided to try for a baby.

Only kidding lol! I'm moving to Belgium next month - WOOHOO! Or as the locals would say "de max!" The land of Sarah, high cadence cycling, chocolate and fantastic beers...not to mention the waffles.

Must dash, today is my "if in doubt, chuck it out" day. This now clears the way for Sarah to blog, over to you babe...

Jo, that's so cool, I've been a secret reader of your blog for a bit, but as a fellow cyclist I know how cool this will be for you.

Congrats!

Thanks Greet :-)

Andy, how's life treating you down under? You got your visa sorted then? And, at risk of being a total bike geek - what are you riding???

Life is good, visa'd up to January but working on residency at the mo.

I'm riding one of 4 bikes:
Planet X Stealth (TT rig for Ironman)
Cervelo Soloist (TT/Road racing)
Kona Kula Primo (was mountain bike till I destroyed my hand now a panniered commuter)
and a $100 folding shopper for getting to and from the station.

I think I need at least 2 more!

Do you race at all? There would be some cool stuff to do in Belgium if you did, limitless crits etc.

Congratulations & welcome to Ghent... or will you ladies be moving elsewhere?

Andy: I would agree, you need a few more for sure!

I've done some some 24hr mtb stuff in the UK and did one circuit race. If I thought the UK racing scene was tough, then it will be at least 10 times tougher for sure in Belgium.

I'm just looking forward to living in a country where cycling is part of the culture. And between you and me, I've been looking for an excuse to get a proper sit up and beg Dutch bike ;-)

DTC: Thanks :-). I'll be living in Gent for the first 2 months, then I need to find somewhere to live that'll be closer to were I'm working...maybe I should do a poll...

If you're looking for sit up and beg... here is the archetypal blog of such things... and it features girls too, great. ;o)

I figure you can never have too many bikes.
